Expert Group Meeting (EGM) to review and validate the Training Modules of the four energy data collection Questionnaires of the African Energy Commission (AFREC)

Salome Maheya is a Senior Policy Officer,  Energy Statistics in the African Energy Commission (AFREC).

Salome has been an energy statistics trainer of trainers for the African Energy Commission (AFREC) since 2019 and is certified in Energy Statistics by the International Energy Agency (IEA). Salome has 12 Years experience in energy data collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination.

New Staff Announcement

Eng. Nickson Bukachi Ongeri  joins AFREC as a Senior Policy Officer in charge of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.  He will be supporting AFREC’s transformational programmes and initiatives across the African Union Member States on renewable energy, bioenergy modernization, energy efficiency, energy transition and clean cooking.  

Felix Bob Ocitti is a Senior Policy Officer in Charge of Research Oil and Gas Programme at the African Energy Commission (AFREC) of the African Union. He overseas energy policy development, advocacy and technical support to AU member states in the oil and gas sector. He previously served as Manager, Operations and Compliance and a Senior Geoscientist at the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) where he was instrumental in advising the Ministry of Energy and Minerals Development on the award of licences and monitoring compliance of oil and gas companies.
